Co-hosting of the 43rd NIHU Symposium / International Symposium “Astronomy and Citizen Science”


 

The 43rd NIHU Symposium / International Symposium “Astronomy and Citizen Science”, held at the National Institute for Japanese Language and Linguistics (NINJAL) from September 24 to 26, 2025, was jointly organized with the National Institutes for the Humanities (NIHU).

The symposium brought together experts from around the world in astronomy, astrophysics, and related fields to share various initiatives in citizen science. Participants presented practical examples and applications of citizen science in scientific research, and engaged in discussions on future directions for research development.

Assistant Professor Takashi Hayakawa, Designated Assistant Professor Nicholas Larsen, and Dr. Bidya Karak (Indian Institute of Technology), who was invited through the ISEE International Joint Research Program, each gave a presentation related to the TranSEHA program.
